♥ LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss | Review & Try On

Like the rest of us, I have been so obsessed with liquid lips recently. I'll do anything for a long lasting, matte lipstick that dries down perfectly opaque and doesn't transfer. So when I was asked to try out the LA Girl Matte Pigment Glosses* I couldn't say no, and the extensive shade options had me in a fluster when it came to deciding which ones to try out and put to the test.

LA Girl USA is a familiar budget brand within the beauty blogger community. Over the past year or so, their concealers and correctors are products I have seen everywhere. They been raved about by everyone that uses them and I know I need to try them out, but their Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss is a product by the brand I'd never even heard off. However, when the lovely girls at justmylook reached out to see if I was interested in trying out a few products, these included, I was really excited to be able to try something from a brand I'd heard so many good things about.

When it comes to lips, I stick to what I know works. Matte works for me. Very well. I love knowing that whatever I apply will stay in place all day and not leave me with lipstick smeared across my face or teeth. But a matte gloss? What's all that about? Don't let the name of this product put you off. It's a liquid lipstick that dries down matte and it doesn't transfer - not one little bit. The formula is heavy, and you can feel the product on your lips as you move them about, they'll make your lips almost tacky, but they're nowhere near as drying as most matte lip products I've tried before. I chose the shades Fleur a 'terracotta nude' and Rebel a 'muted dark purple'. They look just as they do on swatches I looked at online before deciding on my shades and they apply like a dream. The applicator is much longer and straighter than your usual doe foot and it ensures an easy application every time. Fleur is such an easy and wearable daytime nude and it's orange tones will look great right through spring and summer. Rebel is a stark opposite. The dark purple colour will be awesome for a night out or perfect in the colder, winter, months. The great thing about it, though, is that its just muted enough to be worn by anyone. It's not as in your face as other dark berry toned lipsticks and is much kinder and forgiving then MAC's liquid lipstick in the shade High Drama, which is a shade or two darker. These aren't as easy to build and layer up as some other high end favourites of mine, but they are just as opaque if you apply enough the first time round. A great thing about the darker purple shade is that I managed to get it perfectly opaque with just one application - something I've never been able to do with the MAC offering. You can use these without a lip liner, as they are nice and opaque and the wand is super straight, but if you tend to go out of your lip line a little without one, then I'd suggest using one just as a guide.

The easy to wear nature of this product is something that tells me I'll be picking these out time and time again and at under a fiver, they're a must have in my opinion. You can find these online at justmylook and with sixteen awesome shades to choose from you're bound to find one you'll love! They even have free postage, which is insane baring in mind you can get so many drugstore brands and budget brands for such a great price. Go and have a look and tell me which shade you'd love to get your hands on.
