♥ My Most Used Palettes

This week, I thought my three posts could all be centred around my most used beauty bits. I tend to use all of the same stuff time and time again because I'm a certainly a creature of habit. To start off, I thought we had to have a little conversation about eyeshadow palettes. Eyeshadows are definitely my downfall. I just can't get enough and over the past year or so my collection of palettes has really grown. I thought I'd take an opportunity to talk through my most used palettes and what it is I absolutely love about them. Some palettes can get quite expensive but, honestly, when you break it down into the amount of shadows you're getting and how much each one is costing, it makes it seem so worth the money. I absolutely think that the high price tags are acceptable! There are many palettes I wouldn't purchase, though. Like the Urban Decay Vice palettes - they're way too bright and vibrant for me and the rosey tone of Naked3 doesn't tickle my fancy, either. However, the original Naked palette is another story...

My most used palette by far is my new Urban Decay Naked palette. The original. I wasn't into makeup at all when this first got released and I wouldn't have been able to afford it at all... Even so, when I did get into makeup, this wasn't my first choice palette. I bought the Naked2 first and loved that, and didn't feel the need to expand my collection with this. Now I have it, I can't imagine living without it. The shades I'm using the most are the two mattes, Naked and Busk, but Virgin is an awesome highlight shade and Smog is great for a brown/bronze smokey eye.

Another Urban Decay palette I can't get enough of is the Naked Basics 2. This was on my wishlist for such a long while and when I bought it for my best friend for her birthday, I also picked up one for myself. I'm sure the woman at the counter thought she'd misheard me when I asked for two, though! I use this so much more than I ever thought I would. If I'm having a day where I just can't be bothered to do much, I'll pop this on, I use it for work and I use it for 'barely there' make up looks. It's a perfect mix of neutrals and I'm so glad that the two lightest shades Skimp and Stark are also in the Gwen Stefani palette, as they'll be the first to go in this one!

My third and finally most used palette has to be my MAC quad. I didn't buy this all in one go, I split it into a few different purchases, I first bought the shades Honesty and Mythology and added Malt and Sable a while after. I use Malt as my base shadow, as it's a nude neutral/skin tone colour and it's great.  The others are great lid colours and Sable is the easiest to work with because it looks so good on the lid on its own. Now that they've dropped the prices of the shadows in the US I'm a bit hopeful that the same will happen over here, but I'm not tempted to buy any more shadows from MAC at the minute. I'm happy with this quad and I also have a few mini palettes that are great value for money.

Of course there are other palettes I would like and my collection isn't anywhere near as big as I'd like it to be - but these palettes are perfect for right now. There are a few of the Too Faced palettes I'm desperate to try and I'm sure my favourites will switch up eventually, but as it stands I use these palettes on an every day basis and because of that, they're definitely worth the price tags! Let me know what your most used palette is in a comment and you might even influence a purchase.
