♥ Six Big Things for 2016

On the first of January 2015, I posted the fifteen things I wanted to accomplish that year. I feel like reflecting on that post was really helpful and let me know some of my capabilities and some of the things I must try to do better and what I can change within myself to have a happier and more positive 2016. A few of the things on the list just didn't get done, but that's okay, because instead of going to a European city on my own, I got to experience Rome (photo diary here) with one of my best friends. Every cloud has a silver lining, right? This year, the post is a little late but I was so so busy in January that I just couldn't sit down and write, but I've finally got around to thinking about the things I want to achieve in the coming year. Instead of thinking of sixteen little things I hope to achieve, I've chosen six rather big goals to aspire to. Here they are:

  1. Graduate with a 2:1 in Creative Writing from Falmouth University. I'm in my final year at university now and I can't wait for all the hard work to materialise on the day of my graduation. The ceremony isn't until September, but I'm hoping to be awarded with a 2:1.
  2. Lose weight. After I move back home in July, I'm determined to get back into the gym and really make an effort to try and get to a point where I can happily wear a bikini if I go on holiday. My weight doesn't really fluctuate much, but I think with enough determination I'll be able to get rid of my little belly!
  3. Go on holiday with Theo. I never expected to fall in love in 2015. I met Theo through tumblr (it sounds weird, I know) and we started talking in March of last year. It took us a few months to actually meet, and then a few (or ya know, eight) weeks of me bugging him to commit, but now we're been together a while, we're talking about going on holiday. We both want to go somewhere hot and Greece is the main contender at the minute. As we're long distance, I think it'll be so perfect as we can spend some real quality time with one another, being in a hot foreign country will just be the icing on the cake.
  4. Move out of the family home. Last year I wrote that I wanted to save up, and I've managed to do so much better than I thought I would. I just need to keep up with it now. Ideally, I'd like to have moved out of my Dad's by October - how I manage to do this will be a different story, though! I'll try and keep you all updated if and when it actually happens.
  5. Clear up my skin. I know this might sound like a weird thing to want to do, but my skin took a turn for the worst in the second half of 2015. I've been suffering with acne and as it's not something I've ever had to deal with before it's really knocking my confidence. Along with a better skincare and diet, hopefully I'll be able to get my skin back to how it was, I'm almost there, now, but I'm trying my hardest to keep my skin as clear as possible.
  6. Take driving lessons. My dad and boyfriend always nag me to try driving as it means no more buses and more independence, but driving is something I've never wanted to do. I don't think I'd be any good at it, and being in control of a moving vehicle seems like so much pressure. I'm determined to at least give it a try this year, because if I never even try, I'll never know whether it's as scary as I think it will be!

Like I said, I was going to write sixteen goals or little prompts for the year ahead, but these six goals are really rather big deals, I think, especially moving out and getting the degree that I want... This year is going to be a lot of hard work to ensure I end up where I want to be at the end of it, but I'm so excited to see what I get up to this year.

  1. Loved reading this post, I have so many goals myself but I keep it in my head instead of writing it down but now I'll definitely will. Driving looks scary but it's really not, once you know what you're doing and you're in full control, it's super easy.
