♥ Estee Lauder: Full Face Routine

Before I bit the bullet and bought it, I'd always heard so many rave reviews of the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. It was always described as this beautiful, full coverage, ever lasting foundation and it was September last year that I really needed the coverage it had to offer. My skin was so bad and I just could not get any of my foundations to work with it. I rushed to Boots one friday evening, before leaving the city to come back down south, and as I spoke about in my in depth review of the foundation, the women on the counter were so lovely and chatty and it was just an all round great experience. So when Christmas came round and I got bought a huge 'Make Up Artist Collection' I couldn't wait to test out everything the brand had to offer. I've now got the right products from Estee Lauder to do an entire face of makeup by the brand and here's how:

Before applying any foundation, I primed my skin. I never used to do this but I jumped on the blogger band wagon and used the trick Nikkie Tutorials got everyone into with the Nivea Post Shave Balm. I smoothed it all over my face and neck and waited a few moments until it went a little tacky and then with a damp Beauty Blender, I applied the Double Wear Foundation in the shade Desert Beige all over. For my eyes I used four shades from the Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Eyeshadow Palette. I used Provocative Petal for a base and then took Captivating Cocoa all over the lid. To make the shadow a bit more pigmented and give a foiled effect, I sprayed my brush with some Fix +. To darken the outer corner of the eye I used the shade Rebel Metal and to deepen up the crease I ran through a tiny bit of Defiant Nude 5. I also took a mixture of the the darker brown shades under the lower lash line. To cover up under my eyes I used the Double Wear Flawless Wear Concealer in the shade 1C Light, I'm not too sure how I feel about the concealer yet. I thought it would be super high coverage but it doesn't seem to give me any coverage at all, and it makes under my eyes look so dry. As a blush I used the Limited Edition All Over Shimmer that came as part of the Make Up Artist Collection. This powder is such a lovely dark pink shade, but I don't think the name of the product is accurate at all, it's much more of a blush than an 'all over' powder and it is so pigmented. I tap my brush into this as lightly as I can - you don't need much at all. To highlight my cheek bones, brow bone and the inner corner of my eye I went back into the eyeshadow palette, using the first shade, Pink Mink. I used the Sumptuous Extreme Mascara and my usual non-estee lauder eyeliner. The mascara is absolutely incredible, I usually layer up two different ones to get my lashes looking nice and fluffy and long, but this mascara is my new favourite. I've worn it every single day since I opened the tube up and I can't get enough of it. It can be quite natural with just one coat, but it's also really easy to build up. To finish off the look, I used the Pure Colour Lasting Creme lipstick in the shade Rose Tea. The finish of these lipsticks is so creamy, so it does transfer and the wear time isn't very long but they are so hydrating and nice on.

I don't think I could do a full face of make up with any other brand, but doing a full face of Estee Lauder just makes it all seem so luxurious. My favourite part of this routine is definitely the Double Wear Foundation, as it's so high coverage and leaves even the worst skin looking incredible, but I also really love the eyeshadow palette. Every shadow is super pigmented and they go on so nicely. A few of the lighter shades do need a bit of Fix + just to make them shine that little bit more, but the darker shades in there have such good colour payoff and they all blend beautifully. I'm really disappointed with the concealer, but I'm going to keep going with it and see if I can get it to work on my under eyes. Let me know of any EL products you couldn't live with out in a  comment down below!

    1. It does look so nice in the pan but it can easily be way too much when you put it on, such hard work to blend it all out and make it look okay if you put the tiniest bit too much on!!

    1. Thank you!! The palette is the thing I'm most impressed with, I didn't think it would be too pigmented but it's great! The blusher might look good on camera, but it is SO glittery and pigmented that it's so easy for it to look god awful on the skin. :(
