♥ Illamasqua Black Friday Mini Haul

Last week we had Black Friday offers galore and it's great to take advantage of offers on makeup when they present themselves because they're not all too frequent. I took the sales as an opportunity to go back to Illamasqua and get some of their products to test out as it's been a few years since I purchased from them and I was looking for a lighter foundation to mix in with the majority of mine that seem seven shades too dark for me right now. I also picked up a palette and a pair of lashes and boy am I pleased with my purchases!

I'm kind of committed to testing out higher end foundations at the minute, due to having very problematic skin that I want to hide all day long. Illamasqua's Skin Base Foundation is something I never really hear or read too much about, but those times when I have heard people talking about it, they have plenty of good things to say. I picked up the shade 02 in the desire to get a foundation that was light enough for my winter skin shade and also one I can mix into the foundations I have that are a touch too dark. It's a gorgeous consistency and mixes into other foundations perfectly and the squeezy bottle is something I love as you're in control of how much product you get out and therefor waste a lot less!

What's a makeup haul without picking up an eyeshadow palette? I ended up purchasing another brown neutral palette in the form of the Illamasqua Vital Palette and I'm really curious about this one as the other palette I bought from the brand was passed onto a friend because I just didn't use it whatsoever. This was only ten quid, so if this palette has the same fate I'm not too bothered, as I picked it up at a high street price. The shades are super similar to those in the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 palette I own - and have started to hit pan on - so I'm sure it'll go down a treat.

Finally, I thought I'd pick up a pair of lashes. I was desperate to try the Lush lashes but typically they had none in stock. I think I ended up with the next best thing though, as the Desire ones look just as fluffy and thin. I think they're a bit like the Demi Wispies from Ardell, which I really love so I'm desperate to play around with these.

I'm really excited to start playing around with these products and the whole bunch cost me a little over £40, so I couldn't be happier with my little Black Friday purchases. I'd love to see or hear about the products you picked up in Black Friday sales, so tell me - or even better, link me to your posts - in the comments!

Em x
